1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to the Housetto iOS app and the Housetto website. It describes information you choose to keep in the app, information used to provide purchases and support, and limited technical information involved in operating the website.
The short version: Housetto does not require an account, run ads, sell personal information, or build advertising profiles.
2. Information you add to Housetto
You decide what to record. Depending on how you use the app, that may include:
- Home, room, appliance, system, fixture, and project details.
- Model and serial numbers, purchase dates, warranty details, notes, and service-provider information.
- Photos and documents such as receipts, manuals, warranties, and maintenance records.
- Maintenance tasks, reminders, completion history, and seasonal care preferences.
This information is used to organize your records, generate a care plan, surface relevant reminders, and provide the features you request.
3. On-device storage and iCloud
Your Housetto records are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud for Housetto, Apple’s CloudKit service can sync your records across Apple devices signed in to your iCloud account. Your use of iCloud is also governed by Apple’s terms and privacy practices.
We do not operate a separate Housetto account database for your home records. Turning off iCloud does not automatically remove copies already stored on your devices or in your iCloud account.
4. Camera, photos, and notifications
Housetto asks for device permissions only when a feature needs them:
- Camera: to capture appliance nameplates and home documents.
- Photo library: to choose images for asset passports and home records.
- Notifications: to deliver maintenance and care reminders you configure.
Nameplate text recognition and document text processing run on your device using Apple’s Vision and PDFKit frameworks. Those processing features do not upload your photos or documents to a separate Housetto analysis service.
If you choose to look up a manual, the app asks before opening a Google search containing the appliance brand and model. That search is handled by Google under its own privacy practices; it does not include the photo or document itself. Websites you open from search results may process their own browsing data.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission limits only the features that rely on it.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Housetto uses RevenueCat to determine whether premium access is active, restore purchases, and present subscription offerings. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase status, product identifiers, a pseudonymous app user identifier, and device or store information necessary to provide those functions.
We do not receive your full payment-card details. Subscription management, billing, refunds, and transaction records are subject to Apple’s policies.
6. Support messages and website data
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include. We use it to answer your request, investigate problems, and maintain a record of the conversation when reasonably necessary.
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may process limited operational data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs. We use this information to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the site—not for cross-site advertising.
8. Retention, deletion, and export
You control the records stored in Housetto. You can edit or delete records in the app and use available export features to keep a copy. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device, but may not remove data synced to iCloud or retained in device backups.
Exported backup archives include the records and attachments you choose to export and are not encrypted by Housetto. Store them in a secure location and share them only with people or services you intend to receive those records. Import and restore options are available in the app.
Support correspondence and operational records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal, and business-continuity purposes. To ask about information associated with a support request, contact us from the same email address.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. Your device security, Apple ID security, backups, and iCloud settings also play an important role. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
10. Children
Housetto is a household-management product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Housetto account because the app does not require one. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Housetto evolves or legal requirements change. We will revise the date at the top of this page and provide additional notice when a change is material.
